As a Herbal Medicine graduate I am a fully-qualified primary healthcare practitioner. I have completed a four-year degree course that covers both the theory and practice of medicine and includes a minimum 500 hours of supervised clinical practice.
The treatment I offer is western herbal medicine, i.e. diagnosis is made using orthodox clinical diagnostic skills and the majority of herbs used have their origin in the UK, Europe and the USA. Medicines are generally dispensed in an easy-to-take liquid form.
I am a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) and the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy (CPP). These well-respected professional bodies work hard to maintain the highest standards in the education and ongoing training of their members and to promote the concept of integrated healthcare for all. In addition they advocate the practice of evidence-based medicine and support the development of scientific research into the benefits of Herbal Medicine.
All members of these organisations follow a strict professional code of ethics and are required to hold professional indemnity insurance as a condition of membership.
